Your Pixel phone might soon know exactly when to activate its anti-motion-sickness feature

TL;DR Google Play Services v26.38.30 contains strings suggesting Motion Assist may soon integrate directly with Pixel’s Transit mode.

The integration will seemingly allow Pixel phones to automatically activate anti-motion-sickness visual cues, possibly using schedule and location data rather than relying solely on motion detection.

Users will likely receive a specific notification informing them that Transit mode has activated Motion Assist, so they are not surprised by moving dots on their screen.

Google recently began rolling out Motion Assist to phones beyond the Pixel, but it seems the company still has more in store for Pixel users, possibly in the form of tighter integration with Pixel’s Transit mode. Evidence spotted in the latest Google Play Services update suggests that your Pixel may soon automatically enable anti-motion-sickness visual cues the moment your phone detects you are commuting, sparing you from digging through quick settings every time you hop on a bus or train.
