Our vision
Tech news, painted bright
TingaTinga Tech News wants to make keeping up with technology fun: bringing the latest stories together in one cheerful place and pointing you straight to the people who reported them.
What we're here to do
Technology moves fast, and following it can feel like hard work: dozens of websites, endless tabs and headlines written for experts. We want to change that. TingaTinga Tech News pulls the day's tech stories into one colourful page, so anyone can see what's happening at a glance and dive into the stories that catch their eye.
- Fun first. News doesn't have to look grey and serious. Bright colours and friendly animals make it a place you want to visit.
- Always the latest. New stories arrive throughout the day, so there's always something fresh to read.
- Credit where it's due. Every story links to the original article, so the journalists who wrote it get the readers they deserve.
- For everyone. Whether you're a lifelong techie or just curious, you should feel at home here.
Where we're heading
This is only the beginning. News is where we've started, but over time we'd like the site to grow into a bigger home for all things tech.
- Today
Fresh tech headlines from trusted outlets, sorted into topics and updated every 30 minutes, with every story linking back to its publisher.
- Next
Small touches that make the news easier to enjoy: better ways to find stories, more sources, and more painted animals to choose from.
- In time
More than headlines: things like simple explainers, guides for curious beginners, and fun ways to learn about the tech behind the news.
A father and son project
TingaTinga Tech News is built by a dad and his son. It started as a fun project to show what you can make with a little time, a bit of effort and plenty of curiosity. Every feature on the site has been an excuse to learn something new together, from how news feeds work to how a website gets from a laptop onto the internet.
We hope it shows that you don't need a big team or a big budget to build something real. You just need an idea you care about, and the patience to keep going one small step at a time.
Keeping the Tingatinga spirit alive
The look of this site is our tribute to Edward Saidi Tingatinga and the joyful painting style he created. As the site grows we want to keep that spirit at its heart, with bold colours, black outlines, patterned borders and animals full of character, and to introduce his art to more people along the way.
If you enjoy the site, tell a friend. Every new reader helps a little more of that colour reach the world.
