The Witcher 3 Fans Relieved to Find Low-Polygon Pigeons Have Survived the Remaster Process

The Witcher 3 Remastered brings tons of graphics improvements, but developer CD Projekt Red has left one incredibly important creature as it was: the pigeon.

Ahead of the remaster's public release, updated pigeon models were found in the game, but it only seems to apply to pigeons that are hanging out on the ground. Still, some people were upset with the assumed change, with one person posting the new ground-based model with the old flying one in a Reddit post captioned, "Gone, but never forgotten."

Luckily, it seems like the beloved low-poly pigeon has survived the remaster, as it was spotted by Kotaku Editor-in-Chief Ethan Gach on X / Twitter out in the wild. Apparently, The Witcher 3 uses different pigeon models for flying and grounded birds! If anything, the low-polygon pigeon looks even funnier in the remaster, as it shows the (lack of) detail even better with the updated lighting.
