Google is working on an AI-powered Game Finder feature for the Play Store that could offer more personalized game recommendations.
A new Gamer DNA profile would use your gameplay, ratings, and interests to shape suggestions, and users could tweak it to fine-tune their feed.
We were able to surface the Gamer DNA UI, but the feature wasn’t functional.
We already know that Google is working on a custom game playlist feature that will let users group and store Play Store games into different categories, but that tool assumes that you already have games in mind that you want to save. What about when you have no idea what to play next? Google appears to be working on an answer for that too.
Right now, finding a game on the Google Play Store involves scrolling through storefront listings, charts, and dedicated sections based on genre. There is some personalization with sections like “Recommended for you,” but it’s overall fairly passive. …
