A Street Fighter Movie Sequel Is Already Being Written, but There’s a Catch

Director Kitao Sakurai confirmed that he’s already hard at work writing up a sequel to his upcoming Street Fighter film, but whether or not it gets made all depends on how the first movie performs.

Sakurai spoke about the possibility of a sequel in an interview with MovieWeb, saying the groundwork is already being laid to continue Ryu and Ken’s adventures after the events of the second World Warrior Tournament. But if fans want to see their fights continue after this, they’ll have to put their butts in some seats at their local theaters to make it happen.

“It's something that we're thinking about and developing,” he told the outlet. “I don't want to say anything that locks us in. It also kind of depends on how people react to this one, and whether they, you know, support this vision of the story. …
