Google just gave Gemini a new role to fill at work, and it’s a big one

Google has introduced a new universal Gemini agent that can complete multi-step tasks across apps without constant user input.

The agent works with Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft 365, maintains context across devices, and can use specialized AI sub-agents.

It’s currently available only to enterprise customers in private preview, with no word on a wider consumer release.

AI tools have become pretty good at helping us get things done, but we still have a lot of work to do ourselves. Sure, Gemini can summarize a lengthy email thread, help draft a document, or pull information from a spreadsheet.
