Gemini Skills are expanding to free accounts as Google prepares to sunset Gems

A new Google Support page has confirmed that Skills are expanding to users with free accounts.

Google is also upgrading Skills with new features, including the ability to import files from Google Drive or Gemini Notebook.

It will also let users share the Skills they create with other users.

Yesterday, we spotted a new banner in Gemini officially announcing the end of Gemini Gems as we know them. While the banner confirmed that Gems will migrate to Skills starting November 17, it left one major question unanswered: how will users with free accounts access their Gems after the migration? Well, we finally have the answer, and thankfully, Google isn’t hanging free users out to dry.
