Google Maps is launching its own take on the Michelin Guide, and you’re the star

Google Maps is launching its first-ever fan-favorite Dining list, highlighting popular eateries and the biggest food trends across 10 cities worldwide.

The annual list draws on Maps reviews, ratings, and directions, with 2026 trends ranging from froyo in New York to dosa in Seattle and hojicha in London.

Google is also highlighting its existing weekly Dining lists, Ask Maps restaurant discovery, delivery integrations, and “know before you go” tips.

Google Maps has long been handy when you know where you want to eat. The harder question is what to try when you don’t. Google already tackles that through weekly dining lists in Maps’ Explore tab, sorting restaurants into Trending, Gems, and Top collections. Now it’s taking the idea much further by turning a year of Maps activity into its first-ever fan-favorite dining list.
