Hate setting up eSIMs? Gemini might soon do it for you (APK teardown)

A new SIM Manager connector for Gemini has appeared on a Pixel 9 running the Android 17 QPR3 beta, likely by accident.

It lets Gemini set up a new eSIM, convert a physical SIM to an eSIM, transfer profiles, restore them from a backup, and delete them.

The connector’s details page also shows the rules Gemini follows, including several things it won’t do, like turning on an eSIM you’ve already installed.

Gemini can already work with a long list of apps on your phone, from Gmail to YouTube Music. Now it looks like Google wants its AI assistant to help with something a lot less exciting but much more annoying — setting up your eSIM.
