
Gears of War E-Day is a 'Natural Choice to Be an Exclusive' – Studio Head Mike Crump Claims Series Carries The Banner For Xbox
Gears of War: E-Day launched this week, and while it is excellent, the game was pulled away from a PS5 launch earlier this year. But, in a recent interview, The Coalition Studio Head Mike Crump claims that this was all part of the plan.
In an interview with the BBC, Crump defended the choice to be an Xbox exclusive, despite a likely ludicrous budget sayig, "Gears has been an exclusive franchise to Xbox for 20 years now. It's sort of entwined deeply with the brand."
However, Gears of War: Reloaded did launch on PS5 last year, so the franchise as a whole isn't exactly Xbox-exclusive anymore. It's also likely that if E-Day did launch on Playstation, it'd see higher sales numbers.
