Cyberpunk 2 Is Evolving Beyond Its Director’s Original Vision

As development on Cyberpunk 2 continues, game director Gabe Amatangelo has shared more thoughts on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and how his plans have evolved as CD Projekt Red has started to assign more people to its creation. In a new blog post, Amatangelo spoke about what the theme of cyberpunk means to him, remarking that he wanted to explore ideas of dehumanization. With more people now working on Cyberpunk 2, Amatangelo explained that the project is becoming a "reflection" of the people working on it as they add their own ideas to the mix.

"I had the idea of Cyberpunk 2 in the beginning, but it evolves as I involve more people," Amatangelo said. "And it evolves as I empower the team and individuals within them to contribute. It becomes something else, right? It becomes this thing that I've shepherded, but it's ultimately a reflection of the team's hearts and souls. And I look forward to sharing that."
