This Android brand just launched its own e-reader that lives on the back of your phone

HONOR has quietly introduced the Life S3, a tiny 3.68-inch E Ink reader that magnetically attaches to the back of a phone.

It weighs 61g, supports Wi-Fi 6 for book transfers and microSD cards up to 1TB, and promises up to 30 hours of reading.

HONOR isn’t the first phone brand to experiment with E Ink accessories, but the S3 stands out as a standalone reader that can work with virtually any phone.

ePaper displays and smartphones have crossed paths plenty of times before. The YotaPhone famously put an ePaper screen right on the back of a handset, while HUAWEI once offered an optional ePaper rear cover for the P8. More recently, gadgets like the magnetic Flowtica Verso have turned the back of your phone into useful accessory space. HONOR is now giving that old idea a bookish twist with the HONOR Life S3, a tiny, standalone e-reader designed to hitch a ride on your phone.
