Xbox's Official Shakeup Continues Through 2027 with New Rounds of Layoffs

The massive layoffs at Xbox Game Studios are far from over. Under new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, the company has already cut 1,868 jobs since announcing in July that it would be reducing its headcount by 3,200 over the next year. Sharma is currently planning three additional rounds of layoffs for October, November, and January, according to a new report. Fortune noted that Xbox's layoffs have hit company veterans particularly hard, a move that is likely to erode institutional knowledge.
